The Tech Commute Did Not Take Place

IMG_1691

05.03.15 - The mainstream media attempted to portray the May 1st blockade of the Oakland tech commute a failure. An article on SFGate.com carried the headline “May Day rally fails to block tech bus in Oakland.” Further below in the same article, the author goes on to write, “When the lone bus pulled up at 7:40 a.m., it stopped across the street from protesters and left before they could assemble. Other buses were either rerouted or cancelled in anticipation of the protest.” Read…

12.12.14 - On December 10th, 2014, the ambiguous multitudes of the Counterforce found themselves at the gates of UC Berkeley waiting for the fifth night of protests to begin. For the past weeks, the many cities of the Bay Area have been engulfed in an upheaval against the police and the racist, capitalist order they maintain. As we all know, the police are the dogs of the ruling class and serve as punching bags for the public to hit when angered. Unfortunately for the ruling class, these punching bags have egos, emotions, and psychoses that cannot be contained and sometimes overflow. The police have been given free reign to terrorize us all for centuries and are accustomed to murdering with impunity, spreading lies to the public, and engaging in every manner of criminal enterprise, just as lower classes have always known. The ruling class has no choice but to allow the various police brotherhoods their sick powers in exchange for maintaining capitalist order. 06.27.14 - Pictured here is some of the dark side of the Star-Wars-themed demonstration, “Google: Don’t Be Evil,” on Wednesday, June 25, outside the incredibly well-attended, $900 per participant Google I/O code development gathering at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Organized by Eviction Free SF, SF Jobs with Justice, SEIU-USWW, San Francisco Rising Alliance, and San Francisco Rising Action Fund, the rally involved maybe a hundred people — a generous estimate — at its peak, coming face-to-Google-glass with thousands and thousands of the prototypical — or is it androidish — app-happy new generation of elites and wanna-be elites, meaning mostly white/Asian males under thirty with a sprinkling of white/Asian females under thirty. 06.26.14 - Google I/O is one of the hottest tickets in town, and gaining entry to today's keynote and the rest of the sessions that are going on this week is no small feat. Yet that didn't stop two protesters, who began screaming out their complaints against company officials at different times during the 2.5-hour long keynote before being dragged away by security. Both protesters were part of local tenants' rights activist groups, Eviction Free San Francisco and the Anti Eviction Mapping Project. Read…
