11.26.14 - The student fee and tuition increases touched off a series of UC-system campus demonstrations, including building occupations and event takeovers. Berkeley’s Wheeler Hall is occupied this weekend and students also held down Davis’s Mrak Hall. At UCLA demonstrators camped out one night and then took over a football rally and bonfire for the upcoming UCLA-USC football game. Riverside was in the mix too. 11.25.14 - Thousands took to the streets of Oakland, California as the Grand Jury in Ferguson, MO handed down its decision to not indict Darren Wilson, the white police officer who murdered 18 year-old Michael Brown, an African-American, in August, 2014. Brown’s murder set into motion an uprising against a heavily militarized police presence that has inspired generations of young people to stand up to white supremacy and the capitalist State. UC Berkeley Students Occupy Blum Hall Against UC President Janet Napolitano

02.15.14 - UC Berkeley students and allies occupied Blum Hall at the North end of UC Berkeley on the afternoon of Thursday, February 13th after a march through the campus. Students are demanding the resignation of Janet Napolitano, who has recently become the President of the University of California (UC) system. Napolitano is a member of the Democratic Party, former Governor of Arizona from 2003 to 2009, an architect of the "Secure Communities" deportation campaign, and was the former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. As of this writing, the occupation is still ongoing and students remain locked inside the building. Call For Occupy and Anonymous to Defend People’s Park From the 1%

12.19.13 - The University of California has hired San Francisco real estate mogul Robert J. Lalanne to redevelop People's Park. The UC's plans include the removal of many of the trees and plants. The UC will take total control of landscaping and gardening of People's Park, making it illegal for the public to participate in public gardening, ending 44 years of volunteer gardening. It is believed that initial steps to control the Park will occur over winter break, such as a primary wave of foliage removal. Read…
